Turn off Live View. While this is one of the best features offered by Ring doorbells, it’s also really hard on the battery. Even if you don’t use it all the time, even having it on will drain the battery more quickly than if you left it off. Try using Live View only when necessary, and turn it off altogether if reducing active usage doesn’t help enough. Check your Wi-Fi strength. In the Ring app, check the received signal strength indication (RSSI). If it’s low, try to improve the Wi-Fi signal in the location where your Ring is installed. Adjust your motion sensitivity. Increase the sensitivity to decrease the number of irrelevant events picked up by your Ring. Consider utilizing motion zones, so the Ring ignores parts of the image where traffic or other extraneous motion is likely to trigger an event. Set up motion scheduling. If there are times of the day when you know motion will occur, like when your trash gets picked up, you can set up motion scheduling to prevent alerts during that time. Adjust your motion frequency.
