Pixel 7 Release Date

Google unveiled the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro at the October 6, 2022, Google event. The actual release date was October 13. You can view the Pixel 7 phones at the Google Store. Google might be adding a third phone to this lineup: Pixel 7a. According to 9to5Google, the Pixel 7a will have a flagship-grade camera, 90Hz display, and wireless charging, and could arrive in 2023.

Pixel 7 Price

The Pixel 7 starts at $599, and the Pixel 7 Pro starts at $899. These are the same starting prices as the Pixel 6. The price changes a bit depending on the storage capacity:

According to a leaker, the Pixel 7a will retail for $449 (the same as the Pixel 6a).

Pixel 7 Features & Specs

The Pixel 7 introduced new camera features like Photo Unblur and Macro Focus. The former can remove blur and visual noise in Google Photos with just one tap, regardless of the device that originally took the photo. With Macro Focus (on the Pixel 7 Pro), Google says “even your tiniest subjects look extraordinary.” Another big improvement is the Google Tensor G2 chip. This is the second iteration of Google Silicon; the first is found in the Pixel 6. Google says that the G2 features a “next-generation Google custom TPU,” which TechCrunch reports, “allows certain machine learning tasks to run up to 60% faster and up to 20% more efficiently.” Here are some other features new to the Pixel 7 Pro compared to the Pixel 6 Pro:

Android 13 arrived on the Pixel in August 2022, so all those changes will come to the Pixel 7 at launch. These include Foreground Services Task Manager to better manage running services, per-app language settings, 24-hour battery usage alerts, and additional advanced privacy controls.
